Scouting the Mavericks: Nebraska-Omaha picked up its third win in a row Saturday, knocking off No. 11 North Dakota 4-2 at CenturyLink Center. UNO gave up a 2-0 lead thanks to two second-period goals from UND, but forward Tanner Lane picked up a game-winning goal in the middle portion of the game’s third period…UNO forward Ryan Walters had two assists Saturday, including the primary assist on Lane’s game-winner. Walters now has at least one point in eight of UNO’s nine games so far this season…Forward Josh Archibald‘s late empty-net goal Saturday means he’s ranked second in the NCHC with seven goals…Freshman goaltender Kirk Thompson gets the start in goal for the Mavericks on Sunday. He comes into the game with five previous appearances, a 3-2-0 record, a 2.99 goals against average and a .887 save percentage…Form (last five results): L-L-OTW-OTW-W.

Scouting North Dakota: UND’s 4-2 loss to UNO Saturday was North Dakota’s fourth in a row. It’s the first time UND has lost four consecutive games since December of 2006…Freshman forward Luke Johnson picked up his first career goal in Saturday’s second period, beating UNO goaltender Ryan Massa for a power play tally…UND went a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill Saturday against the Mavericks and connected on one of its three power play opportunities…UND senior goaltender Clarke Saunders gets the start Sunday. In two appearances so far this season, he has a 5.06 goals-against average and a .881 save percentage. His official record so far this season, however, is 0-0-0…Form: W-L-L-L-L.
