GAME NOTES:
Colorado College defenseman Mike Boivin had a hat trick of his own Friday, picking up his seventh, eighth and ninth goals of the season. It mattered little in the end, though, thanks to UNO’s barrage on the Tigers’ nets…Including his goal in Friday’s third period, UNO junior forward Matt White has now scored in six of his last seven games…Friday’s win was UNO’s first victory in a series opener in its last three attempts, but the Mavericks had gone unbeaten in series openers through each of the first eight weeks of the season…Friday’s announced attendance was 6,112.
