Scouting the Mavericks: UNO is down four spots in this week’s USCHO.com poll, down from 12th to 16th, following a pair of losses last weekend at then ninth-ranked Quinnipiac. QU, now ranked fifth in the country, eked out a 5-4 win on Dec. 29 before scoring three unanswered goals the following afternoon to win the rematch by a 3-1 count…Junior forward Matt White is has scored in five of his last six games…As a group, UNO’s juniors are second in the country in scoring as a class with 104 points and lead Division I with 43 goals…UNO has lost back-to-back series openers (at QU on Dec. 29 and at home to No. 14 Minnesota Sate on Dec. 14…Form (last five games): LLWLL.

Scouting the Tigers: Colorado College hasn’t played a game since Dec. 15, and the Tigers will have been glad to have the break. CC is on a stretch in which it has gone 1-7-2 since Nov. 16…On a positive note, CC is the only team in the WCHA that has four players each with 20 points so far this season. That list is made up of senior forwards Rylan Schwartz (24), William Rapuzzi (23), Scott Winkler (20) and junior forward Andrew Krushelnyski (21)…Although CC only sits in eighth place in the WCHA, The Tigers have been competitive so far this season, playing in 13 one-goal games so far. They are 4-7-2 so far in those battles…The Tigers are only 1-for-20 on the power play in their last six games, but they have yet to give up a shorthanded goal so far this season …Form: LL-T-LL.
