The WCHA announced Tuesday that it has handed down a one-game suspension to Nebraska-Omaha freshman Dominic Zombo for his knee-to-knee hit on Minnesota Duluth’s J.T. Brown on Jan. 14.
Zombo will be required to serve the one-game suspension during UNO’s next game, at Minnesota State on Friday.
At the time of the incident, Zombo was given a two-minute penalty for kneeing. A press release from the league, however, stated that his suspension was determined after a review of the incident under the league’s supplemental discipline policy.
